Interpretation rules
A prediction is strongest when the known result is recent, raced hard, and close to the target distance. A 10K can often inform a half marathon goal better than a mile time can. Marathon predictions need extra caution because fueling, long-run durability, heat, terrain, and pacing discipline can matter as much as raw speed.
After you estimate a target, convert it into required pace and check whether that pace fits your training zones. If the goal pace sits near threshold for too long, the goal may need more endurance work or a more conservative race plan.

Use the aggressive end of the range for workouts and the conservative end for race-day pacing unless training gives strong evidence that the faster plan is sustainable.
